The Present

I started to write about something that's happening tomorrow, but realized I can write about tomorrow tomorrow. Today I can write about today.

The future is uncertain, the past is over. Being in the present is the best choice. If I'm not in the present, I miss it.

I've been writing about inspiration a lot recently. Daily blogs need inspiration. It's helping me to remember to look for and dwell on inspiring things. It's keeping me present. It's keeping my phone notes messy.

An example of this is that I found myself lurking the vagabond subreddit, reading through the recent and popular posts. What I took away from it is to enjoy what you have when you have it. When you lose it, don't mourn it. Easy come, easy go.

There is so much to learn from communities living very different lives than mine. Another example of this comes from Viktor Frankl1's book Man's Search for Meaning. Frankl was a philosopher and a Holocaust survivor. In his book, he describes how he found meaning and purpose in life even "when faced with a situation of unchangeable suffering."

I've been in the present lately. Inspiration is keeping me here. It's a nice place to be.
