Every single person in my pottery group was in the studio today. There's five of us, and I can't remember the last time we all attended around the same time.
The evolution of the group has been interesting. We're starting to learn each other's gossip - what's going on in our lives, what's bothering us, what we're dealing with. Some people talk about their relationships or family troubles or issues in their communities. I'm not used to being around a group like this or being comfortable talking about loaded topics with near-strangers.
The pottery that everyone is making is so cool too! Each person has a little project they're working on. I default to teacups, but I have more than enough teacups at this point and need to find a new subject or project. Maybe I'll start making little sculptures for fun rather than practical things like dishware.
It's been so hot outside, and I had a late night getting home from an event yesterday, so I lost a lot of my day to sleeping in and an afternoon nap. I don't feel that I spent enough time learning this weekend, but it was also a nice, needed break and change of pace.
The weekend went too fast. I hope the week ahead goes fast, too.
