I forgot to meditate yesterday. Gotta get to that one over the weekend.
I've been running most weekday evenings for a while. Today I felt like I was naturally going faster, in contrast to the usual feeling like I'm overexerting my heart and out of breath. I've also noticed an improvement in my posture while running, and caught myself focusing on my form rather than just trying to stay alive while running. It felt good to go fast.
Now that fall is approaching, I've started looking into races again. I have tabs open for two 5K races coming up in the next few months. It's really important to note that one of them is a dog-focused race, where dogs can participate, and where human participants aren't required to bring a dog. This is a huge motivation to participate. I hope some of the dogs will want to be my friend, but even if they don't, I'll be happy just to be in their presense and watch them be adorable.
If I continue to run and make it through a 5K or two with decent times, I'd like to try out a 10K again, too. I ran some 5Ks last year, but it's been a while since I've done a longer distance. Whichever distance I choose, I'll need to start upping my training distances; though, there is plenty of time to do that. For now, I just want to focus on having a good time running in the evenings, not pushing too hard, and celebrating small wins. This motivation will get me further than any detailed training plan.
