Breathing is Settling In

It's finally sinking in that the danger has passed and my body has retreated from fight or flight mode. I took a large part of today (Saturday) to mindfully relax. I read some of my fiction books, watched anime, put up some new art up that I got from the con I went to recently1, did a beginner weight training routine, cooked some spaghetti, practiced Japanese, did some extra hygiene, and learned. It's been a much more balanced Saturday than my recent weekends, which had been wall-to-wall learning.

I'm grateful that the hard moments are over and that the outcome has been generally favorable. I'm also grateful for the non-screen activities that I do on weekends. I usually spend way too much time staring at the light boxes of varying sizes.

Tomorrow I'll go to the pottery studio, weather permitting. The heat is calming down, but the rain persists. Mornings are usually safe from downpours. I think I'll either try to make something more like a sculpture, or practice pottery wheel again.
