Equinox Eve

It hasn't hit me yet that tomorrow is the autumn equinox. Part of me feels guilty for not having prepared more, but I know that when I over-prepare, it feels like I rush through the plans I've made for the holiday rather than taking it in and living in the moment.

Autumn was the first equinox I celebrated when I decided to celebrate the equinoxes and solstices. I think that this is my fourth year celebrating it; time goes by so quickly. One of the traditions I had for each of the holidays was to cook every meal for myself; part of me misses that tradition, but it's also so much work and planning and takes up the whole day. Maybe I will compromise and make one special meal. We'll see how it goes.

I hope that it hits me when I finally go to sleep tonight, that tomorrow is the equinox and I'll get to open my gift to myself. I hope that I can stay in the spirit of the holiday and not waste my day as if it's a normal weekend day.
