Today was crazy.
First up, I wandered the local pop-up market looking for breakfast. Unfortunately the market mostly has unhealthy fried foods, which hit the spot sometimes but it's been too hot for that. I ended up buying chicken salad and guacamole, and brought that home to make a wrap. It was so good. I have leftovers for at least 2 more. Now that I've stopped drinking caffeine, I didn't get a drink from the market either. The overly-sweet juice-like alternatives weren't sounding great.
After breakfast I biked over to the pottery studio. I glazed a few pieces then made a plate and a... weird cup-like thing. It's hard to explain. We'll see if it holds together. I find that I don't enjoy glazing as much as making the shape of the pottery, and I've been thinking that might be in part because I've only been dipping my piecees in glaze, not brushing it on or making designs.
I may or may not have gotten a milkshake on the way out. There's a shop between the pottery studio and my apartment. It is problematic. The Birthday Cake milkshake is super tasty, but too sweet.
I biked straight to the pharmacy after that for my annual microchip vaccine upgrades. One in each arm. Going to be a rough couple of days ahead of me with the effects of those hitting me at the same time as my monthly egg decrementing ceremony. I hope that it clears up by Wednesday because I've got a very active Wednesday this week.
There's an art store between my apartment and the pharmacy, so I picked up a few brushes that I hope will work well for glazing pottery. Maybe it'll make me like glazing a bit more. Also, all of this running around was by bicycle so far. I was hoping that the weather would have calmed down by now, but it felt like it was baking my skin off. No good.
Guess what I realized when I got home? It's day 1 of my 5k training plan! At that point I just wanted a h*ckin nap, but I went out to run my 10 minutes run, 1 minute walk, repeat. This ended up being twice my usual loop around a local park, whereas on normal days I just one run loop. Thankfully, it was raining gently by then, and I'm also grateful to be training in my new running shoes. Last time I trained in my heavier hiking shoes. It makes a huge difference that I didn't realize until I tried both.
I'm ready for a night of zoning out and moving as few muscles as possible. Grateful that tomorrow is a day off, too.
